As an overweight child, I eventually started learning more and more about nutrition and fitness as a way to manage my own weight. This curiosity for nutrition/health/wellness/fitness eventually turned into my career path as I went on to become a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. I have also been a 'gym rat' for as long as I can remember and have completed four marathons and many triathlons including a half Ironman. I became involved with fitness back in 2006 and haven't stopped since.
I believe it is extremely important to meet people where they are with both their nutrition and fitness. It makes my skin crawl when I hear or read other gym professionals tell all of their clients to go a specific diet because it worked for them. Individuals are unique and a plan should be developed for them and not from a cookie-cutter template. There can be so many other factors that contribute to what and how people eat.
